The Adult Day Centre serves adults 55 years of age and older who are frail, have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia, are living with a disability, and/or are socially isolated. The program provides a range of therapeutic and recreational activities to clients, while caregivers can enjoy a few hours of respite. Transportation is also available for clients living within the Scarborough area and meals are provided during the program. Admission is based on individual assessment. Clients interested in joining the program are asked to contact the Community Support Services Intake Team. Contact information is provided below. Starting in January 2019, SCHC is also pleased to announce a new program that will run on Mondays and Fridays in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. This Day Program is specifically for adults diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia. The Active Minds Social Club (AMSC) will be located at 629 Markham Road, Scarborough. Please click on the purple button below to review the program's flyer. Admission for the AMSC is also based on individual assessment and clients interested in joining the program are asked to contact the Community Support Services Intake Team.
