About this Program

At the Diabetes Education Program, we address the physical, mental, social and financial aspects of health and support the diverse healthcare needs of Scarborough’s population, families new to Canada and unfamiliar with our system and people who are alone. We serve clients who are 18 years of age or older as well as families.
Our team of Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians and Social Worker educate and counsel clients at risk for diabetes, pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes in both, individual and group settings. In addition, clients who require the assessment of the foot and the treatment and prevention of diseases, disorders of the foot have access to a Foot Specialist five days per week for individual appointment.
